MISS. CODE ANN. Section 73-33-1, et.seq. provides the enabling statute that mandates the Mississippi State Board of Public Accountancy. The State Board’s mission is to protect the public welfare of the citizens of the State of Mississippi, and therefore the State’s commerce, through its oversight of certified public accountants (CPAs) and CPA firms.

CPA Examination

Chapter 2 of the Board Rules and Regulations sets requirements and procedures for applications, transitioning, etc. for the computerized CPA examination.

Please remember that the answers to these frequently asked questions are general in nature and not intended to apply to specifics of the Mississippi State Board of Public Accountancy requirements. Board application fees have not increased. Such fees are based on the number of sections for each application and are added to the examination fee for total fees paid.

Exam Scoring: The Board receives and releases paper scores as received. Candidates who test in the first part of a testing window may qualify for earlier receipt of scores, depending on the examination content administered to them, the examination volume and the distribution of examinees within the testing window. Candidates may check advisory scores online at www.nasba.org/exams/cpaexam/Mississippi by using the Section ID along with date of birth.
